There is lots of common sense and humanity in the simple life. Ukrainian Natalya lives on a small farm with a mixed group of old and new lovers, no rx children and animals, physician all unified by an iron will, faith and love. They won’t give in to the hardships of life and their strong communal spirit is a drastic contrast to the loneliness of the urban dwellers living in the concrete mausoleums outside Natalya’s farm.
Over the years, Natalya’s farm becomes a metaphor for humanity, at least to its inhabitants. In the urban surroundings there is fight, gluttony and alcohol abuse but people in the farm live simply and happily. And their happiness rubs off on the viewer as well.
